Questions about Crossing the Jordan Franchise

The ideal candidate for Crossing the Jordan does not need to have prior retail experience, but rather should be a good personality fit with the culture developed thus far. Belief in the mission and a connection to the cause are important; the rest can be taught. Specific desired hard and soft skills include customer service, retail/operations, management, computer, finance, values/morals, problem solving, communications, and more. As the owner of a Crossing the Jordan resale boutique franchise, you’ll have the tools and training you need to create a unique and friendly shopping experience, while you grow a business and work toward financial security for your own future.

We’re offering our franchisees an established concept with multiple locations already in operation and a protected local territory. In addition, you’ll get tried and true merchandising advice and a sophisticated point of sale system. Our operating model is streamlined, with minimal staffing requirements and very modest buildout requirements. We provide store start-up guidance, inventory expertise, merchandising help, ample training, technology tools, ongoing support, a confidential operations manual and local marketing support. Crossing the Jordan will provide a pre-opening training program for franchisees and their operating partners or store managers at our corporate location in Santa Rosa, California lasting up to one week. In conjunction with your commencing business operations, representatives of Crossing the Jordan will spend between five and seven days, assisting you and your staff on-site at your store.

The total investment necessary to begin operation of a Crossing the Jordan start-up franchise is estimated to be between $256,500 – $414,500

We do not provide direct financing to franchise owners in the Crossing the Jordan resale clothing franchise program.  However, we will attempt to negotiate favorable payment terms with suppliers to the system, on behalf of Crossing the Jordan franchisees and we may be able to provide referrals to financing sources on a case-by-case basis.

We charge a royalty fee equal to 5% of gross sales. These fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of technology and marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades.

Franchisees will be required to spend a minimum of $500 per month or 3% of revenues (whichever is greater) on local marketing. Franchisees will contribute 1% of gross revenues into the system marketing fund. Collected funds will be used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Crossing the Jordan brand and fund the creative costs to develop local clinic marketing materials and campaigns.

Crossing the Jordan will offer an initial term of seven years, with two subsequent successor agreement options of five-years each.
